GKD Partners with the UNDP

UNDP is the UN's global development network, advocating for change and connecting countries to knowledge, experience and resources to help people build a better life.
The United Nations Development Programme in South Africa recently commissioned GKD to design and develop their new website. Due to the old site being outdated and the content difficult to manage, the decision was made to scrap it and build a new one from the ground up.

The brief was to deliver the content via an attractive, intuitive design that would have a South African feel while retaining the identity of the organization. An important consideration was the content management functionality - the ability for multiple content authors and administrators to create, upload and manage the site content.

To provide the client with the required functionality, we chose to use the Joomla! CMS platform. Its ability to handle many different content types, ease of use, and the many available extensions, made it the logical choice for a project of this size.

The site is hosted on our managed server and employs a fluid-width, 3 column template with a document management component, interactive Google maps, news scroller and RSS & Atom feed modules.
